Japanese Rice Seasoning

Japanese Rice Seasoning, or Furikake as the Japanese call it, is one of the condiments that the Japanese enjoy eating simply by sprinkling on top of hot rice to give color and flavor to their meals. It contains a variety of ingredients, the most important of which are sesame seeds and nori seaweed; additional ingredients include seasonings, grated dry fish, and so on. Rice-seasoning textured vegetable protein is a soybean protein-rich product that is mostly consisting of small bits of crisped textured vegetable protein coupled with vegetables/dried herbs such as spring onions, pumpkins, carrots, and nori seaweed.
